Football Fans' Fav

We had the privilege to make this cake for our friend, Sue. She ordered it for her son, Adam Hafidz. It was amongst many 'special' orders we received. We enjoyed preparing this (since we didn't get to have this kind of cake for our birthdays during our childhood).

To bring such enjoyment to kids' lives bring happiness in ours too. So it is ALWAYS fun to prepare one. :)

This one is for Mdm Kay's son, Abg Teh.
The 2-kg cake is just enough for her family to enjoy.
Again, it was FUN to prepare this especially
when our kids were there to to witness the cake preparation process.

So, be it a birthday cake, wedding, engagement or
for any occasions, it is ALWAYS fun for us to prepare them.

Fondant Flowers by Faye :)

It has been a while since the last I updated the blog. I've been very busy; with classes and all. Managed to ask  Dokte Ismadi to teach me on how to decorate some cuppies.

Today, we ventured into fondant. What a fabulous cupcake it turned out to be!
My very first attempt at decorating the cupcake with fondant flower. :)

My attempt at being creative.
Ooops, need to work harder! :p

Ok, not bad! :p

And how about this, huh?
(Well, my part is on the fondant flowers,
the rest is Dokte Ismadi's  'masterpiece')

I had to 'hide' the background.
The table was full of creams, piping bags and
it was NOT a good sight. *giggle*

Well, not bad for a beginner (I'm trying to inject some positive vibes into myself, here. :)) Will definitely try to do this more often.

Wow, it's almost 3 a.m. and I still have to go to work tomorrow. Laters, y'all! :)

2011 TEACHER'S DAY

16/05/2011
This year, Teacher's Day is celebrated during the normal school day. Muhammad Irfan Firdausi, the eldest son in the family had been asking for the kind of presents that he should get for his teachers. As a concerned parent, and being a teacher (in college) myself, I have prepared 'something' for his teachers.

HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY FROM M.I.F (MUHAMMAD IRFAN FIRDAUSI)
Buttercream cuppies, with chocolate wordings on them.
It was our first time  decorating the cuppies with chocolate letters.
Will improve  the skills in melting and moulding. :)

I just hope that the teachers at SK Bdr Seri Putra, Bangi would love them as much as we do.
The cuppies are nothing as compared to what they have taught Irfan. It is our way of saying 'thank you' for the knowledge they have shared with my eldest son.
And we know that: Teachers do more than just teach.

HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY!

Baking and decorating cuppies: The BEST therapies.

Teaching IS my profession. It is also my PASSION. But at times, when after years of doing the same routines, the excitement can sometimes whither and you need to do something about it so as NOT to make teaching a burden to you.

Luckily, I wear 'tudong',
so nobody knows if I am left with only
a single strand  of  hair on my head! :D

So, after so much thinking and brainstorming, I chose baking and decorating cupcakes as my 'escapism'. May is the month for me to brush up my baking & decorating skills. Apart from those two, I kind of improving my 'painting' skills - which is present in some of my family members' lives. The cuppies are my 'canvases'. I 'pour' all the ideas onto the cuppies, similar to what a painter does onto the canvas. Playing with colours and anxiously and patiently waiting and anticipating until all the cuppies are decorated, are among the things that can help you to be more 'humane'.

These are among my first 'masterpieces'.
They are not that perfect, but at least something. :)

I love the colours, pastel and all.
They make you feel calm. :)

The bigger cuppies got to be decorated with brighter colours.
(Depending on the mood of  the baker at that time)

Nicely baked, decorated and packed cuppies.
Ready to be delivered to dear customers. :)

It's kinda 'cute' to have these all for yourselves!
But, sharing is caring!
So, friends,  share the things that you love doing with others.
It is much more 'fulfilling'. :)

Loved these! :)

All the cuppies in this post were baked by ME (after 2 'classes given by Dokte Ismadi). So, that makes me a mother, a wife, a teacher, and a BAKER! After looking at the beautifully (correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't help being a 'narcissist'!) decorated cuppies, and feel relieved and satisfied with my work and life, I am very sure that baking and decorating ARE the best therapies for ME! :)
